Photos Galore!!!
As usual, I'm behind in my blogging! Sigh. Of course, with the holidays happening recently, I got too busy to sit down and type up a blog. Just now, I had to download pictures and videos and it took me an hour! I suspect that that's why I haven't been here much lately.
Well! Nyhoo! Let's kiss and make up.

Here are some pictures and maybe a video or two for you to enjoy.

Rob, Bailey and I went to Indianapolis to visit my mother for Thanksgiving. We drove through Ohio where it snowed. This was Bailey's first encounter with the snow. Cool! I tried to get him to bite into the snowball so he would know how cold it was. He didn't know exactly what to do with the snowball. Heee. So cute! Unfortunately, there wasn't any snow after this.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Bailey. In our apartment, we usually bathe Bailey in the tub with his little baby tub. We don't use the kitchen sink due to lack of space. So, when we visited my mother, she had plenty of space! We were thrilled to try and bathe Bailey in the sink. Baaad idea!!! All Bailey did was create his own waves! Water splashed everywhere! We even had to put a towel on the floor to absorb the extreme amount of water from the Bailey Tsunami! After that, we bathed him in the tub again. Hee!
The Surber generation! Bailey's first Thanksgiving! He ate a whole lot of food! Bailey's as close to a food disposal as you can get. He eats anything and everything! God, I hope this means he won't be a picky eater when he grows up.
This is pretty much what I've been doing throughout the break (since December 24). Definitely my favorite pasttime. Bailey just feels so PERFECT on my chest. I hope he wouldn't mind doing this even when he's 50 years old. Heee. Imagine that...me being 82 years old, begging Bailey to lie down on my chest...just one last time. (Of course, we all know there's never "one last time" when Mommies want something. Haha!) I wonder how Bailey would react. Guess I'll have to wait 49 more years now. Pfft. Hehe.
I know this is weird, but I just had to post both pictures. I don't know which facial expression I like best. Either way, he looks like Chucky to me. Hahaha! Yep, my Bailey is one expressive baby.
My other favorite picture of Bailey. I wanted to try and get a good holiday pitcure of him by the tree. Bailey's always good at striking a pose for me when he sees me hold my camera. Funny thing is, I didn't think about taking Bailey to see Santa at the mall (and take pictures, of course) until we went shopping at PC Mall. Rob was busy shopping for me, so Bailey and I went to see Santa ourselves.
Guess who took this picture? ME! The lady was nice, trying to take good pictures. Being a good son, Bailey kept looking at me with the camera in my hand. As a result, I took better pictures than the lady did. She saw the pictures and said I could just print mine out instead. I felt bad, but pictures like this HAD to be perfect! At least, for me. Anyway, Bailey didn't cry at all when he saw Santa! He was fascinated with Santa's face. Bailey seems to be easily fascinated with new things. That makes life easy for us, but sometimes we'd like some drama! Haha! Gotta have some stories to tell Bailey's grandkids one day!
I know, I know...me bad! Taking naked pictures of my baby! Heh. The first one was taken about a month ago. I don't usually allow Bailey to chill out naked anywhere except when he's taking a bath. I'm no expert with boys (until now), so I don't wanna risk having Bailey pee all over the place. Anyway, I was changing his diaper or something when Bailey just turned over to his stomach. Seeing the position that he was in (with his cute butt sticking out, of course), I just HAD to take a picture, so I ran to the living room to get the camera. This was a good pose, so I wanted to try that again, but didn't know what kind of background to do it with. I immediately thought of George Constanza on Seinfeld. Remember his "naked" picture?
I know, this is a small picture, but you get the idea. That was one funny episode. I don't know why I thought of this because I don't usually watch Seinfeld. Random thoughts, I guess. Anyway, so I saw that Rob's mom had the perfect blanket for this picture. I had to borrow it and see if I could get a good picture of Bailey with it. Obviously I could! Hehe. I can't wait to show this to Bailey's first girlfriend one day. Hahahaha! I can almost hear/see him say, "Mommmm!" Heeee!
Yep, this was on Christmas Day. Like last year, we VP'd my mom so she wouldn't feel like she's missing out on this holiday with us as she wasn't able to spend it with us. She watched us open our gifts and we watched her open hers. That was cool. Thank God for VPs, I guess.
After opening our gifts in the apartment, we went to Rob's parents' house for the rest of the day. Of course, we had more gifts to open there. Bailey had this fascination with Rob's grandmother's cane. He wouldn't stop sucking on it! Heee!
We got Brandon a smoke machine to use when he plays his Rock Band game on Xbox 360. FYI, Brandon's OBSESSED with Rock Band. It's so bad that Rob and I got obsessed ourselves! We bought Brandon a lot of Rock Band stuff - new wireless guitar, smoke machine, mini-guitar (game), drum case, pajamas, and boxers. Hahaha! Obsessed enough? Heh. Guess it was Brandon's theme this year. Anyway, Brandon couldn't wait to use his smoke machine, so he brought it over to grandma/grandpa's to try it out with the rest of the family. I tried to take a picture of them playing, but the smoke blurred the picture. Still, I think this is a cool picture. Brandon said so the other day. Yeah!
Random picture. I noticed Brandon's shoes lying around in the living room and I had Bailey's shoes in my hand. So, I thought it would be cool to see the size difference between the two shoes. Remember, Brandon wears size 15 shoes and Bailey wears size 3. Whoa mama! Brandon can only order shoes online now. We tried looking for shoes in the malls and all to no avail. Poor Brandon.
Bailey's first time on a swing! Recently, it got so warm outside that Rob and I decided to take Bailey's 9 months old pictures outside at the playground near Kendall Elementary School. Bailey had so much fun at the playground that we gotta take him there more often when it's warm enough. This helps him spread his wings as opposed to being cooped up in our teeny-tiny apartment.
Random pictures at the playground. We tried taking various pictures to see if we could get "the perfect one". We liked these, but decided on this one...
I wanted a change of pose in Bailey's monthly photo collection. This was the perfect one! My gosh. My baby is growing up too fast!!!!Now at 18.5 pounds and 28.5 inches, Bailey is a handful! He crawls...fast. He eats adult food (and loves broccoli!) when he can. He loves to drink from a straw. He blows bubbles from his mouth. He knows how to unleash himself from the car seat when I unbuckle his seatbelts. He calls me "mama" almost all the time now. He knows how to dance when I snap my fingers. If he's not done bathing himself, he won't stand up like I ask him to to rinse him off. And if he doesn't want to get in the car seat or go anywhere but stay in my arms, he will clench onto me so tight like a cat with claws! Finally, if you're ever looking for Bailey, you can find him holding onto my leg like a koala. He cannot stand having me out of his sight, it seems. (Awwww!)
Yep, that's my baby at 9 months. And I'm prepping for his 1 year old birthday party already! Maybe I'm making the time go too fast??? Oy vey.
Now that you're all caught up with our "news-y photos", here are a couple of videos for you to enjoy. Happy New Year!
Bailey LOVES to stand up now, so what better place to do it than in his crib? Heck, maybe he can get a jump or two here and there! Haha!
Bailey's first time swinging. Weeeee!

Bailey didn't win...
The CuteKid contest prize went to a cute girl.
But, Bailey is cuter.
No, he's the cutest.
Strike that.
Bailey's the cuter than cute.
Nope, that's not it.
*thinking*
Oh, wait! I know now!
Bailey is the world's PERFECT baby.
Heck, he's MY PerfectKid.

Yep, you can tell I'm a devoted Mommy.

Freedom!
Can you see Bailey doing something HIMSELF? This means I don't have to stand by the crib and hold it from start to finish with my back aching from standing in a weird position. Sometimes I would cringe my neck and back while holding it just so I could watch my show on TV behind me. I'm old now, so that could be a position you don't want to be in, you know.
Now, I'm FREEEEEE! My back won't be aching anymore! I can just pop it in and leave Bailey to tend to his needs until he sleeps. WOOOO!

So, what is IT? Yep, that's right... A BOTTLE!!
This is the day every mother looks forward to! Finally, some sense of independence after 7.5 long months! Not that I'm complaining. It's just that I'm Deaf and I need BOTH my hands sometimes.

Ooh...I got more videos to share with you! Enjoy them on this rainy day!
